Weight Loss Plan – Deciding Between Plans

Do they give you prepackaged foods?

Obviously any business is going to try to market their products to make money. However, I have not experienced any of the hard sell techniques. The only prepackaged foods that were strongly suggested were the LA Snacks (not a required part of the LA Weight Loss program). The bars I talk about because I really like them and they seem to do their job. The other foods on the plan are one you would normally buy for yourself.

Do they make up food plans for you to follow?

LA Weight Loss centers start you off with a menu plan, outlining the number of servings of protein, fruits, fat, dairy, starches, and vegetables you should eat daily. The menu plan gives you options from different foods in each group. I found this helpful because when I buy groceries there were vegetables I would never considered trying.

Do you have to weigh in and how often?

I go in for weighins are once a week, but I can go as many as 3 times a week

What is the recommendation as to how much and what types of exercise you should be doing?

As far as exercise goes, I have been doing my own exercise for years. So even though LA Weight Loss recommends regular exercise, I have not gotten around to looking at their recommendations. Even at my heaviest I stayed pretty toned. I think organizations like the President’s Council on Physical Fitness recommend exercise three times per week for at least 30 minutes (it may have even increased). Again, check with your doctor and see what they recommend based on all the pertinent factors.

Also what about cost? Do you pay per year? Per month?

LA Weight Loss gave me to have a payment plan for the enrollment fee. The total cost depends on the total pounds you want to lose. They expect you to lose 2 pounds per week on average, followed by 6 weeks of stabilization, and then 52 weeks of maintenance. My cost was $10 a week. The bars (LA Lites) are $29 a box. You will need a box per week unless you opt not to do the bars, but I have found much better prices on Ebay.

This was really very helpful and would make all diet reviews so much more helpful. I know I would definitely appreciate it if this info were included in all diet reviews.
